Swatch - New Gent Collection

Back to the fashionable future with Swatch New Gent Collection.
Swiss fashion watch and jewellery maker SWATCH presents The Swatch New Gent Collection. Ten trendy models in understated, wintery colours introduce a new, much bigger Swatch watch inspired by the legendary Swatch Gent Originals. The original Gent watch head was 34mm wide; the New Gent Collection models are 41mm wide, and the height of the case and crystal combined has increased to 11mm. The much bigger format gives the designers more room to play: each model has a large, colourful plastic case with a generous, colour-coded dial, a day/date window at 3 o’clock and rugged, matt silicone straps in complementary monochrome colours. A contemporary restyling of the classic Gent Original, the Swatch New Gent Collection retains the renowned Swiss watchmaker’s signature use of trend-setting design, fashionable colours and rugged, sporty materials. The new collection takes the classic Swatch Gent—creative, inventive and full of stylish fun—and transforms it into a bigger, bolder, positively provocative statement. Designed for the active man or woman with an eye for the big new trends in accessories and art for the wrist.

Hermessence Iris Ukiyoé by Hermes

Hermessence by Hermès. Sense, essence, essential. The essence of Hermes and the very soul of perfume. A collection of olfactory poems, with sobriety and intensity, which freely explore new facets of emotion. Nature reinvented, unexpected and poetic. Unique and surprising associations of the most noble elements of perfumery.

Jean-Claude Ellena, perfumer to the house of Hermes, has created this collection of fragrances for both men and women which touch the heart and speak directly to the senses.

 Hermessence - Iris Ukiyoé:

An interpretation of the unsuspected scents of iris flowers - lively and delicate. Nuanced, vivacious, unsuspected.

"I collect prints and have a mental picture of irises in the "floating world" (the ukiyoé in Japanese) in the works of Hokusai or Hiroshige. They inspired me when I was writing this divertimento based on floral iris. I felt like foiling the classic approach to iris by working on the flower's fragrances which are virtually unknown. The perfume is delicate but very much there, shifting between roses, orange blossom and mandarin, all expressed by small, impressionistic touches."  Jean-Claude Ellena

Somewhere to Disappear - Documentary

Laure flammarion and Arnaud Uytthenove, two young European filmmakers followed, the American photographer Alec Soth all over America during winter 2008, summer 2008 and spring 2009. Riding in the back of the artist's van, they drove more than 30 000km together going from one state to another, and from one season to another. The result is a 57 minutes movie about the photographer and his project, which was called 'How to disappear in America', about people who decided to withdraw themselves from society. The road trip offers a series of incredible meetings but it also tells the story of an introspective journey.

The Major embodies vast amounts of the massive Marshall legacy. Besides being straight up dazzling, The Major is a solid workhorse with great stamina, designed with non-stop, all-day listening in mind.

The Minor is an advanced and hard working in-ear model. In addition to its good looks it incorporates quite a few exciting features. EarClick is a patent that ingeniously secures the earphone into position in your ear.

Marshall has been carried over the world for nearly 50 years. Breathless roadies and roaring trucks have worked hard to make Marshall heard all across the globe. Now, time has come for you to carry this magnificent burden of rock ‘n’ roll all by yourself. Spending half a decade on tour with the most
prominent and untamed musicians builds experience and a feel for what really works. This unparalleled amount of wisdom has been distilled and fused into every part of Marshall Headphones.

Nicola Testa - http://www.nicolatesta.net/ - http://www.myspace.com/nicolatesta

Ext'inT - http://www.myspace.com/extintmusic

YELLE IS BACK... in brussels!

Bright, colorful and sassy artist Yelle is back with a new single « La Musique »  produced by Siriusmo and released on Kitsuné on October 4th 2010!
The EP comes with hot remixes by Discodéine, Lorenz Rhode, Tepr and  Myd !
Check the stunning gif animated video by We Are From LA

Yelle, born Julie Budet, first came to prominence  in 2006  with the song "Je veux te voir" ("I wanna see you") becoming in just a few months a cult hit on dance floors from Paris to London and New York… this was followed by the release in 2007 of her debut lp ‘Pop up’ and shows on the four continents that left everyone breathless!
Yelle is driving the new non-aggressive girl power scene, delivering kick-ass lyrics while echoeing a certain nostalgia for the golden years of French electro-pop (Etienne Daho, Elli & Jacno, Chagrin d’Amour Taxi Girl or Lio) but all boosted with her own flavored groove and subtle vibe into some booty-pop.
After a short break which in fact was filled with significant collabs with the likes of Robyn (they covered each over) and Crookers (Cooler Couleur), Yelle - along with fav’ producters GrandMarnier, Tepr and now also Siriusmo - is currently putting the final touches to her new Album due out early 2011.
As to get a taste of the new songs, a short run of shows is lined up this fall : see dates here http://www.yelle.fr/rendez-vous.php
Browse www.yelle.fr for blog, twitter, facebook, shows, rendez-vous, boutique, lyrics, contacts, etc etc.

Bursselsisburning.be will be there.. for an exclusive Interview!

Did you have one cohesive vision for Endlessly from the get-go or did it come together piece by piece in the studio?

I think you have a vision when you create music, but it's like looking at a photograph. The closer you get to the photograph, the image changes. You have an intention, of course. I'm not going to say it was potluck. However, you're open to the creative process as well. You have to see how it goes. If I had to be honest with you and tell you what my intentions were, I really wanted something that was obviously me. It doesn't stray too far from what people knew me for—the songs, the voice and the arrangements. I wanted something further than that; I wanted a sonic crispness that allowed people to know we're in 2011.

Do you tend to read or watch movies while you're writing music? Where does your visual sensibility come from?

It's interesting that you pick up on that visual sensibility. I've been called, "Visual." It's quite difficult being a creative person when you're so visual. From the staging to the artwork, everything is visual. I think I work more in that way. I see the songs more than I hear them. It's quite profound. I can't quite understand it myself [Laughs]. I know I definitely enjoy using my imagination.

Do you enjoy delving into other visual art forms?

I do actually! Cinema is something that I'm quite amazed by. I love the thought of a director capturing something through his vision. I love cinematographers who have a nice charm or identity to their work. I don't know too much about it. I'm still very focused on music, but I am catching up on decades and decades that I missed. I go way back to the 1920s, and I've got a lot of work to do! Equally, I like to pick up movies that people suggest along the way. If I had to say what my favorite is, I really love Cinema Paradiso for those qualities—that visual bliss.
