NIKE SPORTSWEAR ICONS HYPERFUSE 2011

Superior design is rooted in one belief – form follows function. With performance functionality at the core of product design, Nike has evolved the fundamental form of footwear since the Moon shoe debuted in 1972. What began as a traditional process of hand-sewn running shoes has evolved into an automated, heat pressurized system that allows for the most efficient use of modern materials.

Nike designers introduced Hyperfuse technology in 2010 in basketball. After observing the extreme wear-and-tear on footwear on the blacktop basketball courts of Beijing, the Nike design team employed the new innovation to create a breathable, stable and resilient basketball shoe called the Nike Hyperfuse. The “Hyperfuse” name soon evolved from a shoe to the technology as other sports demanded the lightweight and breathable benefits that the process delivered.

JUSTICE - AUDIO, VIDEO, DISCO DROPPING OCTOBER 24

JUSTICE RELEASING LONG AWAITED SOPHOMORE LP
AUDIO, VIDEO, DISCO DROPPING OCTOBER 24 ON ED BANGER RECORDS / BECAUSE MUSIC / WARNER MUSIC

Emerging from the creative cocoon that has enveloped them since wrapping up promotional efforts for their 2007 Grammy-nominated debut , Xavier de Rosnay & Gaspard Augé, the influential Parisian duo known as Justice, have announced the impending release of their second album Audio, Video, Disco. Straying even further from their dance music roots, the new effort is at once looser and heavier than previous releases, using the combined musical vocabulary of rock and electronic to conjure a laidback, agricultural effort existing on the outer fringes of pop.

Audio, Video, Disco was created in the duo’s home studio, with all instrumentation performed by the group themselves. Seeking to create an album that would evoke the feel of progressive rock, the duo labored meticulously to learn instruments they had not previously conquered to craft an epic masterpiece that exchanges the “night in the city” setting of their debut with an “afternoon in the country” atmosphere. Also notable is the presence of a range of guest vocalists, including a spot by Morgan Phalen of NY rockers Diamond Nights on “On’n’On” and “Newlands”, Vincenzi Vendetta of Australian band Midnight Juggernauts on "Ohio", and UK pop singer Ali Love on the album’s first single “Civilization”, the graphically captivating video for which was iTunes “Video of the Week” in June and featured prominently on Pitchfork, Stereogum, Prefix, and countless other sites.

established the group as an international force and the duo have responded with a huge album that panders to no one, equally at home blaring from a dance club soundsystem or performed in an arena. Don’t be surprised when it finds its home in the latter.

LONDON IS TOTALLY PUNK

Interview - Nicolas Lefébure by Klodia Vanloo

USERNAME /NICKNAME: Nicolas Lefébure

CITY: Brussels

COUNTRY: Belgium

Could you describe/introduce yourself with your own adjectives ?

I am discrete, shy, sensitive, left-handed, skeptical, comfortable, responsible, ambitious, lazy, aware, slippery and contradictious.

How old are you ?

Not yet 20...

Why did you create your blog ?

To start sharing the few pictures I was taking back then, nothing really huge. I was not really to get involved into that "blogosphère" like we would call it in French. But then, day after day, you start meeting interesting people, related to that "blogosphère" and by these meetings you dive each time a few more into it, until you one day belong to it...

What do you think of the fashion world ?

I have always been interested in fashion, following many blogs about streetstyle, fashion advice, catwalk reports,… It's really important to me. I also think when your models are not even a little bit looking like they were into fashion, you can't get anything from them… Yes, of course ! You can get vibes, emotion by the way they look at the camera, by the way they smile, and stuff.

But by shooting random dressed people, don't be shocked by getting random dressed fans.

Are you more "Born to be alive" or "Born to be wild" ?

"Born to be wild", when I can sleep out. I still live with my parents.

And what about celebrity ?

Ask my mum to answer this question, I'm quite too busy right now.

What do you do for entertainment/to set your mind of things ?

I go for a walk/cigaret in my neighborhood, I've never seen such a quiet one.

What are you thinking about at the moment ?

I'm wondering when my friend will stop throwing up. It's already late.

If you could ask yourself one interview question, what would it be ?

"How much can you lift up at the bench press ?"

Does your future scares you?

I must admit I am quite scared. But people often remember me how young I am, and that I have enough time to take decisions concerning my future… Thus now, let's just let my body hover, Belgian wind will be my sherpa.

Could you create something for us ?

Tell me about your creation?

All I can say is, Klodia knows.
