*Marit Östberg is a filmmaker and visual artist, based in Stockholm and Berlin. Her works are often focused on images of queer bodies and sexualities. She sees her work in a wider context of feminist fights and histories and her visual world has been described as uncompromising. Uncompromisingly current. Uncompromisingly sexy. Uncompromisingly political.

"The film 'Full of Fire' started to grow as an embryo in the song´s lines 'Who looks after my story'. Who takes care of our stories when the big history, written by straight rich white men, erase the complexity of human´s lives, desires and conditions? The film 'Full of Fire' consists of a network of fates, fears, cravings, longings, losses, and promises. Fates that at first sight seem isolated from each other, but if we pay attention, we can see that everything essentially moves into each other. Our lives are intertwined and our eyes on each other, our sounds and smells, mean something. Our actions create reality, we create each other. We are never faceless, not even in the most grey anonymous streets of the city. We will never stop being responsible, being extensions, of one another. We will never stop longing for each other, and for something else."

Sigur Rós' Valtari Mystery Film Experiment

Mystery Film Experiment blows up

Sigur Rós’s ambitious plan to make a film for every track on this summer’s ‘Valtari’ album draws to a close today with one of the series’ most ambitious submissions from director Floria Sigismondi. The flyblown 10-min mini-epic features indie movie stars Elle Fanning and John Hawkes, as father and daughter, one of whom may be dead.

The sixteenth film in the series, it renews Sigur Ros's relationship with Sigismondi, who in 2003 won the European MTV video of year for the band's ‘Vaka', in which gas-masked school children played in the black snow of a nuclear winter.

In the New Year, all 16 Valtari films are to be collected together on DVD, Blu-ray and download for release on Feb 11th as the ‘Valtari Film Experiment’.  The release will include all 14 films commissioned by the band, alongside the two winning entries from the parallel public competition, plus three additional making-of features.

A study commissioned by Diesel to a reputable Finnish research centre shows that “90% of adults between 18 and 75 are no longer able to perceive and live the true Magic of Christmas”.
Not convinced about the truthfulness of the results, Diesel decided to launch a strict session of human experiments on its customers to demonstrate that the Magic of Christmas is in the inner soul of all of us.
Selected customers, invited to a Diesel store in a secret location, were submitted to an hypnosis session that took them back to childhood in a Christmas morning.

In the same spirit as the Spring-Summer 2013 Kris Van Assche “Tee” collection, five emblematic and universal items from the masculine wardrobe are revisited in traditional raw denim enhanced with topaz gold top stitching. The cuts play with volume and ease, true to the purest tradition of denim’s comfort and functionality. The casual spirit is illustrated through three sportswear classics: a five pocket pair of jeans, a sleeveless jacket and a baseball cap. On a more urban note, a pleated pair of trousers and a tie mix sportswear and chic.The collection will be available as from January 2013 in KRISVANASSCHE retailers and in selected Lee® boutiques. Prices range from 110 to 360 Euros.

Yesterday night, the Maison Martin Margiela with H&M collection was celebrated in New York. Mena Suvari, Chace Crawford, Alan Cumming, Helena Christensen, Julianne Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Selma Blair, Doutzen Kroes, and Paul Reubens were some of the over 1 000 guests at the spectacular party on 5, Beekman Street.

The collection was shown in an art and dance performace by choreographer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker.
