Givenchy presents a hybrid shoe for men

Since becoming menswear creative director of Givenchy with the Spring/Summer 2009 collection, Riccardo Tisci has been projecting a look of urban masculinity where in sportswear influences collide with classic codes of the men’s wardrobe.

This season, he presents an ankle shoe merging the details and the ergonomics of a high-top trainer with the characteristics of an oxford shoe. The idea morphs a basketball playground sneaker with an Italian gangster’s brogue.

The shoe boasts Goodyear welt construction, a leather sole with light patina on the edge, a winged toe cap, and classic decorative perforations with a PVC backing, quilted inserts and a sporty lace-up construction. Materials contrast matte and shiny leather, glazed calf and pony or caged crystals embroidered on leather.

This hybrid shoe for men will be available in all Givenchy shops and specialty stores worldwide from Fall 2012.
